qcfAny qualification with an operational start date of 1 October 2015 or later will be displayed on the Ofqual register, and our documentation, will have (RQF) on the end instead of (QCF).

This is because Ofqual, the regulator, have made changes to the framework that regulated qualifications sit on. Instead of the Qualifications Credit Framework, we now have the Regulated Qualification Framework or RQF.

spending-review-2013-thumb-2On the 25th November, the chancellor will announce the outcomes of the 2015 spending review. The review was launched earlier in the summer and will determine department budgets and priorities for spending. This has the potential to have a huge impact in our sector so we eagerly await the publication.

There has been some rather calamitous rumours circulating recently regarding how the FE review will contribute towards the projected £20bn savings. At the last major review in 2010, the BIS department played a tough negotiating game before settling a budget. I'm sure this time around similar strategic risk taking will be required.

Training Qualifications UK, on the back of recently winning Runner-up at the 2015 Salford Business Awards are happy to announce that the latest statistics from Ofqual show that TQUK are now the 23rd biggest awarding organisation.

The statistics devised by Ofqual take in to account the amount of certificates that are printed between January to March 2015, highlighting the significant growth that TQUK has undertook in the last six months, moving from 31st to 23rd place.
