FINALIST-Outstanding-Contribution-2-1.jpg

We got some great news last week!

After nabbing two nominations last year at the 2017 FAB Awards, TQUK is excited to announce that our amazing Head of Awarding Organisation, Katie Orr, has been nominated for Outstanding Contribution of the Year for 2018!

This award recognises an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to their organisation, the awarding industry or the wider education and skills sector.

TQUK is incredibly proud of Katie for all her hard work and dedication over the past year. As Head of Awarding Organisation, Katie is in charge of charting TQUK’s strategic direction and overseeing all AO operations. She also ensures that TQUK is compliant with all of Ofqual’s General Conditions of Recognition.

This year, she oversaw the company as it secured its place as the 9th largest awarding organisation in the UK according to official Ofqual statistics and managed the release of several cutting-edge qualifications. She also created and managed an End-Point Assessment question bank which helped TQUK EPA push forward into the EPA market and pass apprentices on four separate apprenticeship standards before any other End-Point Assessment Organisation.

Katie was absolutely thrilled with the news.

“I’m really flattered with my nomination for the 2018 FAB Awards! I’m also really grateful to the selection committee for thinking I was worthy of the nomination. Little old me!

“But this award isn’t just about me. We’re a team here at TQUK, and I wouldn’t be able to accomplish everything I’ve done without the help of all the amazing people I work with. This nomination belongs to all of us here at TQUK. Way to go, guys!”

TQUK, Managing Director, Andrew Walker, was also delighted with the announcement.

“This nomination speaks volumes about how far TQUK has come. We’ve been a regular fixture at the FAB Awards for several years running. It shows that we have not just arrived, but thrived.

“I’m incredibly pleased to see Katie receive this nomination because it recognises what all of us at TQUK have known for a long time: that she is one of the most dynamic, intelligent and capable people in the awarding industry. We’re so lucky to have her on our team.

“I’d like to congratulate Katie on this remarkable achievement. Here’s to many more nominations next year!”
