Awarding Director Katie Orr heading to Inspirational Women Conference

Who better to fly the flag for inspiring women than our very own Awarding Director and all-round inspiration Katie Orr? Hot off the campaign trail from her 2018 FAB Awards nomination (pictured above), she has received yet another milestone, amassing a vast wealth of 2 nominations in one year (365 days, not a calendar year...) - take that Leonardo Dicaprio! That is of course why Katie will be attending the Inspirational Women’s Conference on September 10th. As a titan of TQUK Towers, she will proudly attend, championing the importance of strong, empowered women in the industry.

Naturally, the importance of women in the industry is hard to understate, so we are super proud that Katie has been presented with the opportunity to attend such an important and ground-breaking event organised by Apprenticeships4England, on behalf of Training Qualifications UK. It is set to be a day of intense discussion and lively debate on the importance of skills, training and equality in apprenticeships.

If last year is anything to go by there will undoubtedly be a thought-provoking discourse on gender, women in leadership, as well as high profile speakers in key industry positions.

With more and more people taking alternative routes to Higher Education, events like this are vital to ensure the next generation of women in apprenticeships have equal opportunity to succeed and grow.

Training Qualifications UK Awarding Director Katie Orr said: "The apprenticeship sector has always been an inclusive one - the opportunities that are presented by this alternative route to Higher Education are open to all and suit many different types of learners.”

It's important that we don't lose sight, amongst all this change, that these make real differences to a wide range of apprentices of all ages, races and genders.

“I'm honoured by my nomination and really looking forward to the day on 10th September where we can no doubt expect a challenging and meaningful conversation about a wide range of issues".
