The New Learning and Development Support Scheme and its Impact on the Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate

The Department for Health and Social Care has shared details of the new Learning and Development Support Scheme and its impact on the Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate.

As part of the scheme, adult social care employers can claim funding for eligible staff on a selection of training courses and qualifications, if they have been paid for and started between 1 April 2024 and 31 March 2025 (inclusive).

The Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate is among the approved course list. Eligible employers can claim funding for up to £1500 per qualification.

A combined claims model will be used, with employers claiming 60% of the reimbursement value upon their employee starting the qualification and the remaining 40% coming upon proof of course completion.

This funding is more limited than the previous scheme, with no dedicated funding specifically for the Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate.

You can find out more about the funding and eligibility here.
